This is the start of a collection of photos involving Laddie. It has been very therapeutic to rummage around 16 years of family photos to find images of my best friend. In doing so I also was able to relive, for a brief moment, many wonderful years of my life. Thus far I have only been through about 3-4 years of photos - 94-97. Photos from the early years and more recent ones are still in albums and a chest in our library. More to come soon...

Laddie on a visit to San Diego at my family's old house in Rancho Bernardo. Look at those wonderful eyes. With his cataracts in his later years I had forgotten how bright those eyes were.
Laddie and Winnie with their first two pups, Camilla and Bessie. This was at our 1st home in Gainesville out back by my rose garden.
All packs must rest - from the top: Bessie, Laddie, Winnie and Camilla. They were all bed dogs at one time; that made cold winter nights nice and toasty (too bad Florida summer nights didn't work out as well).
Ladd had a hard time getting comfortable the last few weeks he was with us, often shaking due to pain. He alway found some comfort being on one of the two dog pillows in our family room.

Another pack photo the weekend before he said goodbye.
Laddie had a great weekend before he passed. Though he was under daily pain medication, we had some nice time together in the back yard after I gave him a bath.
